Our optional net kit is simple to install at a height of 18 inches above ground in the horizontal rib 6 inches below the bottom of the windows which allows sufficient slack to enable horses to access all the remaining hay below it without having so much that might get out from underneath the Hay Hut and get frozen into wet or muddy ground in winter or even snag shod horse hooves; a well known danger.

The net is a light but extremely strong woven polyester mesh which feels as smooth as silk and is infinitely more gentle on horses lips and gums than knotted nets and is available in two metric hole sizes approximating to 1¾” and 2”. This covers all aspects of slow, regular, clean and training feeding. We warranty our net for a two year period provided customers follow the guidelines for repair and notification that accompany the net kits that require regular inspection and early intervention repairs to be carried out immediately to deter horses from continuing to make holes for easier access.
